Toyota 2010 Prius wins the prestigious Car of the Year award from WhatGreenCar!

2010 Toyota PriusCharles Toyota, a leading Toyota dealer in Norwich, Connecticut is proud that WhatGreenCar has awarded its prestigious Car of the Year Award to the 2010 Toyota Prius. The 2010 Toyota Prius uses higher standards of pioneering hybrid design and technology, thereby raising the bar for features and performance in the new model.

The Prius was the fountainhead for hybrid technology and the three generations of the Prius model have delivered superior fuel economy and extremely low emissions for more than 1 million owners worldwide during the decade of its existence. The midsize third-generation 2010 Prius offers even better mileage, superior performance, and modern design features. The third-generation Prius is also quieter and more spacious than previous models. It is equipped with advanced standard and available features such as a moonroof with solar panels, four driving modes, Intelligent Parking Assist (IPA) and steering wheel touch controls that display on the instrument panel.

The 2010 Toyota Prius is justifiably seen as an Eco-Icon among environmentally conscious people. The 2010 model retains the basic look of the previous model with subtle changes. The 2010 Prius can accelerate from zero to 60 mph in 9.8 seconds. It is capable of a combined EPA estimated fuel efficiency rating of 50 miles per gallon. The ECO indicator on the Multi-Informational Display (MID) provides the driver with feedback to promote more economical driving. The new Prius can seat five passengers and has increased rear seat legroom and trunk space. Toyota has used eco-friendly, plant-derived, carbon-neutral plastics in the 2010 Prius.

The new Prius was designed to conform to top level collision safety requirements and to accommodate stricter safety requirements in the future. Prius will be available in one grade with five different standard equipment packages designated I, II, III, IV and V, each offering varied permutations of exterior and interior features.
